Texas Horned Lizard
Scientific Name: Phrynosoma Cornutum
Texas horned lizards are found farther east than any other horned lizard. They live throughout much of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Their horns are very noticeable with the longest two being almost cone-shaped. Their backs are spiny, with two rows of fringed scales on their sides. Each Texas horned toad takes on the coloring of the vegetation and soil to his own variation and intensity.
